How To Find Time To Pursue Your Dreams And Goals

Have you started pursuing your dreams and goals of building a profitable side business but you think time’s just NEVER enough? Each time you tried you tend to say “hmm…I should do that, someday” or “I’ll do it later” and most times you end up not doing it.

Yet you can’t seem to let go of your dreams and goals of earning more money from your experience. I’m writing this short post for you.

First, let me say his intrigued I am that you’re reading this. Time is an irreplaceable resource and I’m honoured that you’re investing time into our relationship by reading this.

Now, to get the most out this time pls make up your mind to take at least one action as a result of this. And pls share with someone you care about if it helps you.

How much time do you even need to earn a decent side income if your dreams and goals are around building a new side income?

About 7-20 hours a week is a good place to start. If you have a profitable and tested idea and if you have a clear path to achieving your dreams and goals, then with just one hour a day you can get there. Though the more time you have the better.

So now to finding time to pursue your dreams and goals aka start your side business…

1. Find clarity. Why do you want to start a side business? Many of my clients start their entrepreneurial journey because they want to have buying power, they want to have more time with their loved ones, they want to escape a poisonous work environment, for me, the main motivation for my business remains that I want to be able to follow my hubby wherever God leads us as pastors and church planters. Answer the question; why do you want to start a side business?

2. Take Stock & Steward your time. In a period of one week, take stock of your activities and you may be shocked and your time is hiding.

4. Identify your time waster. Then identity stuff that aren’t urgent and important and can be removed. Thereby freeing up a bunch of hours.

5. Prioritize important & Urgent stuff. Simply identify and prioritize any activities that would help get you to your dreams and goals.

6. Free up time for (urgent & Important). Then eliminate those things from your schedule or move them to odd times or to your ‘someday maybe list’

7. Repurpose freed up time. At this point, you bring your business activities into the freed up times or anything that will lead you to your dreams and goals. 8. Schedule your business into your calendar. This step is the beginning of your business success journey. If you do everything above and miss this, you might as well not do any of the steps. In other words, just do it!

How To Ensure You Consistently Share Your Experience & Your Expertise With Potential Clients Online

You know you need to share your experience with potential clients but how do you ensure that you’ll do it consistently? You guessed it 🙂 that’s what this article is about, enjoy 😉

First, I think you’ll be happy to know that ‘consistency’ is one of the common questions I get often from new and aspiring entrepreneurs like you.

With so much on your plates; it can get really busy. And trust me, when I say it can get busy.

When you make a commitment to share your experience, about the same time you’ll also feel like a million other things have suddenly shown up; like they were actually waiting for you to commit to something new.

Then you start to stress, “I promised to do this and I’m not”

Have you ever promised to do something but fail at it and you doubt your own abilities? Does it slow down your level of productivity in other areas of your life?

It almost starts to affect your whole life. Self-doubt starts to increase and a lot of times people actually quit completely.

And so the dream of the new side Income fizzles away, causing more overwhelm. I’ve been there. So I get it, it can be so frustrating.

So how do you ensure that you share your experience and your expertise consistently?

But First, Why Do You Need To Share Your Experience Consistently?

You get to start doing what you love – pursuing your passion allows you to thrive even in other areas of life
As you share your experience you learn more – and gain more practice which then increases your value to the marketplace
And you can easily emerge as the expert in your field – and top of mind for your potential clients

Okay, now that we’ve got it clear that it’s important to be consistent if you want to monetize your experience, the next question is how then do you go about it that to become consistent.

How Can You Set Up For Consistency?

FOCUS– the #1 reason why consistency isn’t attained by many is that they have too many ideas and passions they want to follow. I found this beautiful and very powerful acronym that someone created for focus and felt it’s relevant here: Follow-One-Course-Until-Success. To their own detriment, a lot of creative people are afraid to focus on a single idea because they think they’ll soon be bored. In the Livestream this week I shared how you can blend 2 or more of your ideas together and still stay focused on one field. Once you know an idea of profitable and tested, you should actually focus on it until you hit $1M. This doesn’t mean you should pivot when necessary. Learn and grow. Cutting down on distractions will increase your consistency to share your experience on the same topic over and over again.

Create Systems and structures into your life. If you want to share your experience and your expertise with potential clients, you need to create routines that you follow as often as possible. One major habit that has greatly improved my consistency is my morning routine. To get the most out of your routine, you must determine what are some important things you want to get down weekly, then create systems that allow you to get your actions done (at least a portion of it every day. So for example, I plan to go live in my group at least once a week. So what do I do? First a keep a list of questions I get asked so I can pick from it anytime I need to share and then during a time I set up after my personal devotion in the morning, I put thoughts together for my weekly Livestream and I try to improve it as I go. That way When the date I set comes, I have good content ready to share. This is also how I fixed the problem of knowing what to share on social media. Create a system and consistency will be just normal. in the video, I also shared some details of how I use paper notebooks, post-it notes, and the Notes app on my phone and MacBook. Use what you have to create your system and think ‘ease” If you need an elaborate explanation on this you can leave me a comment below and I can do a training dedicated to that alone.

And finally, Just do it! Whether you feel like it or not. If you put the previous steps in place and your mindset works around ‘this is what I want to do’. If you have all of that in place, the jobs do it will be easier because there will be a topic that you can talk about, even the days that you don’t feel like it, you will still be able to do it. Even the days that you don’t have time, you will still be able to do it. Okay, so just do it.

Remember that in order to share your expertise you have to also be aware of who the people you share this expertise with are. Pick a group of people that you’re going to be talking to shot, even pick one person that you’re going to be talking to.

Well, that’s what I called my newest harvest. Yeah, you heard me right. I sometimes farm in my garden in case you didn’t already know that😊

I received 2 images from our Home Manager in the Nigerian house yesterday…2 pineapples are ready for harvest💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾😁😁

Anyway, as soon as I saw the images, I asked him what his plans were and if he could afford to give one of the pineapples to a particular neighbor.

His response:

« Ok ma’am

But they are very small »

I immediately remembered a statement my parents always made reference to while we were young:

In my language it says « Ee ra mogun pin »

Which literally means that no one would make new purchase or investment in order to make the inheritance easier to share among heirs. Whatever was left behind is what goes around.

The time to work on building a more substantial legacy is when one is still alive.

In this case with my neighbors, it’s just a show of love not to share a huge gift.

However, in life, it’s important to consider strategies that one could use to legitimately increase their results and monetize your skills when there’s still time.

Especially if you know that you have some extraordinary gifts, skills and expertise that seem to be either redundant or just not bringing you the kind of results (Side Income) you know you can easily get.

Try to find ways to ELEVATE your value to the world and become FULLY ALIVE while making this world a better place with your uniqueness.

A lot of aspiring entrepreneurs are sitting on a 5 figure – 6 figure opportunity, even 7. Not having a side business is like waking up every day and looking at a $500,000 check on your desk that you can’t cash. If you want to make more money you have to get STARTED.

Yes, I Need That Pls!

Happy Canada Day!

Here we are in July, the 7th month of 2019. Praise God!

It’s Canada Day and my boys and I were just on their trampoline to play. (image below ). I truly praise God with the whole of Canada today. And I pray that Canada will continue to be a country where peace reigns. I just recorded a live video on my Facebook page (link to the replay below).

July 1st is a perfect time to review your plans for the year (I review mine daily). You may have some goals that you now see are either no longer necessary or too small a goal. Embarking on a major review is necessary for you. And if there is a goal that you still would love to achieve but haven’t actually started working seriously on, take 5 mins today to review it. Don’t delay.

In your major review, what should you be looking for?

Identify one major goal you want to achieve this quarter
Write out the first 3 steps you need to take in order to achieve this goal
Schedule time for those 3 steps and
Take action

And if starting a profitable service business on the side was one of your goals for this year, your first step would be identifying what your most lucrative idea is. Why Start From Scratch?

So, until this past weekend, I had been planning to do some gardening but just hadn’t found the appropriate time and weather to get started.

This would be my first attempt at planting directly in the ground in North America. In the past, I only had potted plants and they did well. Though the most exciting part for me in the past I must say had always been the harvest😁. I just love to see the produce. I get so excited 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾 and for those who know me well, you know that a camera goes to work when I get excited. Yeah, I keep records of my harvest. But really who doesn’t😜

Anyway, prior to Saturday, I watched a few YouTube videos on how to get the soil ready. Got some tools I didn’t have. And purchased the most important things: the plants and the soil.

Got my tools out after a good Saturday morning breakfast; pancakes, rice, and beans😂. The pancakes were on the menu and the boys were in charge but my hubby also wanted to clean out the left overs in the fridge hence the rice and beans. (Side note: I tend to keep too many little Leftovers bowls all over the fridge-hubby, not like me)

Anyway, I got help moving what I needed from the garage to the yard. And company removing rocks as I dig them out. Blessing of having a big son and look alike 😜 He may be interested in the harvest too.

One thing I didn’t prepare for was how hard the soil was. In the video I saw, I learned I needed to break the fallow ground. That was some serious hard labor I hadn’t done since my high school days in Nigeria. Yep! High schools trained us to be real farmers back then.

I doubt if you can tell how hard it was. Thank God for full-time Farmers that keep food out our tables and for Engineers that create equipment that make farming easier on the larger scale.

The rain stopped me on Saturday so I planned to continue after church on Sunday, but enjoyed some Netflix time with the family (watching Supergirl- not bad). I remember it felt a bit odd that I suddenly had a free schedule but hey, I enjoyed it. I completely forgot about my farming work until it was too dark out. Imagine if farmers forget to work hehe😏

Anyway, first thing today, I continued my work. Here is the picture of the bed with all the rocks are out and the new soil in ready for planting.

Oh, I forgot to add that I am cheating on what really to plant 😜. I can explain. You see, unlike most people I only have a few months until I switch homes again. So I asked the lady at the garden center what was best. I took her advice and got thé already grown plants.

Yeah! I already have tomatoes and peppers and a bit of lettuce. In fact, why did I call it cheating? I won’t call that cheating I’ll call it being smart 😎

For real, why do I need to waste my time and energy to start from scratch when someone else has already done that?

Yes, I may be paying a premium for it but it’s well worth it for me. My house switch schedule isn’t like everyone else’s and so I better learn how to still get the results I want with the unique situation I have. Right? (I live in 2 different continents each year)

Power Of Association: My Mom is Gold! #LJ098

For a week now my family and I have been battling some cold infections. It started with my 8 yr old and spread to everyone. I even had to give my home manager a break today from work so she can also get treated and rest. Its that bad. My mom got to know about it. She called me this morning to say, I’m coming over! I am just so grateful for wonderful relationships. My mom is gold!

This episode is just a random rant to encourage you to connect with people that will help you become all that God designed you to do.

I still have some symptoms from the cough and all but I felt strong enough to record something and so I did. Listen to it.
